House Bill 4155 and 4156 would change the Penal Code to do the following things:

Permit fugitive recovery representatives and reserve peace officers to possess and employ a portable electro-muscular disruption device while undertaking their duties, if trained in the utilization, and effects of the device.

Permit a person that holds a valid concealed pistol licence to own a TASER device, if trained in the employment and effects of the device.

Furthermore, permit a CPL holder to employ a self defense device against another person in order to defend a person or property under circumstances that would require the utilization of physical force.

By changing the laws regarding the legality of carrying the self defense device, more people will be permitted to have a form of protection at hand should they require it without having to face the ramifications and possible confiscation of their device.

In today’s society, there are countless cases of crime and violence, which is seeing more individuals searching for a way to increase their safety. Whether it’s the job they do, the commute they make to work, if they are out, or if they are victimized in their own home, simply being able to defend themselves will greatly increase their confidence and will prevent someone from attempting to overpower them.

Of course, if the proposed changes are made, it will be necessary for those purchasing a TASER device to understand how they are employed and the effects they can produce. Officers were called to the home located at Lane Cove where they found a 25-year-old man had locked himself in a room with a knife.

After officers were able to gain entry to the man’s room, fearing for the man’s health and safety, they utilized a TASER weapon on him.

While searching the home police found the discovery of chemicals which were safely removed.

When it comes to the safety of the public, officers are required to find the most effective way possible that will bring control to a situation  with the least amount of harm involved. The man was seen attempting to force his way into the home; however his family refused as they believed he was on drugs. When officers arrived on the scene the man fled on foot and after officers caught up with him, he was found refusing to comply with orders from police.

After the man was arrested he was taken to a medical center for treatment to his foot after he suffered an injury due to kicking the door in. Due to his actions the offender is expected to receive charges after being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Each year the availability of natural bear food fluctuates; however, this year it seems that the natural food available to them is in short supply.

This year, white bark pine nuts, which is a favorite bear pre-hibernation sustenance, was sparse, and 2010 was considered by the Interagency Grizzly Bear Study Team to be a poor cone production year.

As a result of bears searching for food there are reports of people witnessing bears in places that they haven’t been seen before. This means that hunters, homeowners and outdoor enthusiasts should be aware of bear activity over the next few months. In addition, they should consider carrying bear spray with them in order to maintain their safety.

When officers’ are faced with violent situations the TASER device has become a number one tactical tool for an officer to employ.

The man in question is reported as asking an officer for sex while warning him to be careful, explaining that there were a lot of officers at Concepción Park. After officers tried to arrest their suspect he is reported as having fought with officers.

Once the man was in custody, police also found out that their offender was also wanted for outstanding theft and burglary warrants.

Apprehending individuals that are a threat to society is of vital importance to law enforcement agencies, and as a result they are required to carry various weapons which they see fit to utilize at their disposal.

If officers had not taken the necessary action and their offender had escaped he may have come back at a later stage only to ask another person the same question.

Of course, in today’s society officers have a tough job on their hands when it comes to protecting the public they serve and the devices they employ to do so. But it’s important to remember that while everyone may not agree about the tools employed, they have been introduced to law enforcement agencies across the United States. Not only are they seen as an effective device to apprehend dangerous individuals, but they are also an alternative to traditional firearms that cause deadly results.

The 42-year-old man, who was wanted on a violation-of-parole charge, was initially spotted by an officer parked in a parking lot. When officers approached the man’s car, he is alleged to have driven towards them and in the act of doing so hit one of the officers.

The suspect then sped from the scene, but was soon pursued into Weston. When his car became stuck in the garden of a house, he fled on foot and made his way through a swampy and wooded area. A lone officer chasing the 42-year-old finally caught up with the man after following him through the woods, where he utilized his stun gun.

Nowadays, the employment of self defense devices is not a new thing for people to learn about. After all, there are various law enforcement agencies who have been utilizing them for years in order to increase the safety of their officers as well as the safety of the public.

After catching up with the offender the officer was capable of ending the chase with the assistance from the stunning device, thus, preventing any further escape.

The Forest Service has recommended that individuals should take precautions and should carry bear spray, particularly if they are located in the Rocky Mountain Front.

Over the next few months bears will be searching for food before their winter hibernation and along with the hunting season in progress that means the chances of bear-human contact are high. But taking the necessary precautions to begin with though will mean that you can easily minimize any harm for the bear and human involved.
