Lawmakers Discuss the Prospect of Carrying TASER Devices Legally

Lawmakers are taking a look at changing the laws on TASER devices, which would see people with concealed weapons permits being allowed to carry the tools.

House Bill 4155 and 4156 would change the Penal Code to do the following things:

Permit fugitive recovery representatives and reserve peace officers to possess and employ a portable electro-muscular disruption device while undertaking their duties, if trained in the utilization, and effects of the device.

Permit a person that holds a valid concealed pistol licence to own a TASER device, if trained in the employment and effects of the device.

Furthermore, permit a CPL holder to employ a self defense device against another person in order to defend a person or property under circumstances that would require the utilization of physical force.

By changing the laws regarding the legality of carrying the self defense device, more people will be permitted to have a form of protection at hand should they require it without having to face the ramifications and possible confiscation of their device.

In today’s society, there are countless cases of crime and violence, which is seeing more individuals searching for a way to increase their safety. Whether it’s the job they do, the commute they make to work, if they are out, or if they are victimized in their own home, simply being able to defend themselves will greatly increase their confidence and will prevent someone from attempting to overpower them.

No one should be a victim of crime and as a result, they should be able to defend themselves in whatever way they deem necessary in order to escape from potential harm.

Of course, if the proposed changes are made, it will be necessary for those purchasing a TASER device to understand how they are employed and the effects they can produce. Without the training, it will be unlikely for a person to own and carry a device in many states legally, that consider them illegal for public use.

But then this is a simple requirement considering the importance that many people regard in these tools. Simply knowing how to effectively employ a TASER device will only help out the individual using it for their protection, as they will know how to get the most out of the tool when required.
