Pepper Spray Used at Football Game

A high school football game fight that moved onto a gas station and saw a worker victimized, saw St. Paul police employing pepper spray to break the fight up.

Law enforcement utilized the self defense spray at Central High School during the football game that was against Como Park. It was noted that a large group of people took part in the fight, with one person apprehended for disorderly conduct.

Police are under the impression that the same people who were involved in the football game fight where also responsible for the assault on a BP gas station worker that took place shortly afterwards.

Surveillance video captures the BP clerk being punched and pushed around as he attempts to prevent the suspects from stealing items from the gas station.

Pepper spray has become an extremely effective self defense device that not just police, but also the general public are employing. Not only is it easy to carry in a purse or pocket, but once it has been deployed it quickly prevents a suspect from what they are doing by restricting a person’s sight and breathing.

However, while the effects only last momentarily, it gives those that have utilized it plenty of time to escape to safety, or to apprehend their suspects; thus making it an ideal personal protection device for people to own.

Furthermore, with the aid of these non-lethal devices officers are provided with an alternative device that can be employed on individuals without having to resort to a traditional firearm that could potentially cause more harm than good.

Pepper spray has time and again proven how effective it actually is, especially when it comes to dispersing crowds of people that are causing trouble. Unlike other forms of self defense tools that need to be employed on one person at a time, once the spray canister has been utilized it affects those in the surrounding area at one time.

As a result of this, more people are subdued in greater amounts, which helps to control a situation in a quick time frame. Without the device, controlling scenes may require more time and effort.
