Pepper Spray Subdues Promising Footballer After Attack on Taxi Driver

A UK footballer who was once hailed as an exciting young player in the country has recently been jailed for four months after attacking a taxi driver while drunk.

The 21-year-old man, who joined Liverpool Football Club, had downed roughly 20 shots of vodka during a night out before punching and kicking the taxi driver.

When police arrived on the scene the young man who had been arguing with his girlfriend was in an uncontrollable rage, which saw officers utilizing pepper spray on him as they pulled him away from the victimized taxi driver.

When he originally joined Liverpool in 2007, he was hailed as one of the most exciting young players to join the team in the country. However, within days of the club learning about his arrest, his contract was cancelled with them, while a judge overseeing the sentencing explained that his budding career was set to end.

The footballer who was angry after arguing with his girlfriend picked on the taxi driver who happened to be in the vicinity of the angry player. When the victim attempted to grab the attention of police officers, the footballer continued to kick and punch him as he lay on the ground defenseless.

When police saw what was happening they instantly rushed to the defense of the taxi man and pepper sprayed the 21-year-old man before applying handcuffs to him. The taxi driver was taken to a hospital where he was treated for injuries to his head.

When asked in a police interview if he remembered attacking the taxi driver, the footballer replied that he had no recollection of the incident.

Days after the interview though, he claims that his memory made a return to that night’s events. The footballer alleged that he had attacked the driver because the man made a comment at his girlfriend. The footballer went on to say that it was the driver who chased him, forcing him to protect himself before being pulled away from the man when police arrived.

Unfortunately, as a result of his actions, his promising career as a footballer has been tragically thrown away.
