TASER Device Subdues Man After Break In
According to police in Calgary they were forced to utilize a TASER device on a man in order to subdue him after he broke into a business under the influence of drugs.
Around 1 p.m., three cleaning personnel who were working in a storage business were confronted with a man after he shattered the glass on the main door before bursting inside.
Even though the three cleaners present were scared at what was happening they managed to call police who shortly arrived on the scene. The man who was still located inside the building was met by the officers who explained that the suspect was aggressive.
As a result, they were not able to take him into custody without employing a TASER device. However, even though he was subdued for a short time, it wasn’t long before he became combative again. This time though there was no need for the officers to utilize the self defense device a second time, as they were able to arrest him successfully.
Once officers had control of the 30-year-old man he was taken away to a nearby hospital to be treated for the cuts he suffered as a result of crashing into the broken glass. One of the cleaning staff also suffered cuts from the flying glass.
At the time of the incident police strongly suspect that the suspect was high on drugs, adding that the same man had previously been involved in two similar incidents; robbery however did not seem to be the motive behind the man’s actions.
When a suspect is under the influence of drugs the utilization of a TASER weapon is often criticized; and yet it’s also a tool that achieves effective results at preventing someone from further harming themselves, or causing harm to others nearby.
Because of this, these devices are strongly relied upon when it comes to the safety of others when they have no other means of defending themselves.
Easy and effective to utilize, this self defense device has become the ideal tool to employ when a situation requires quick action. No longer are the days around when officers find themselves in a prolonged hostile situation that can now be easily solved with one jolt from a TASER device.
