Crooks Employ Stun Gun on Jewelry Shop Owner

Two men who utilized a stun gun on a jewelry shop owner in South Florida are trying to be identified by police.

Surveillance cameras depict the two men entering the store as potential customers. While the store owner shows one of the men some jewelry, the other man walks around the counter and aims the device, often employed for self defense, to the man’s neck.

The video shows the owner knocking the man holding the device away before being stunned. With the owner unable to do anything, the two men take the opportunity to go through the shop, getting away with a large amount of jewelry.

Apparently this is the second jewelry store robbery that has happened in the area in less than a week.

The one to take place before happened to an owner of fine jewelry who was taken down by a TASER device during a robbery. The robbers who targeted that store stole $75,000 to $100,000.

Of course anyone who has information regarding these incidents is being asked to contact local law enforcement with details.

Unfortunately, while these defense tools are employed throughout the United States and in many parts of the world for people’s safety, there are others who purchase these devices so that they can subdue an individual in store robberies.

While they may no longer utilize traditional firearms in these cases they are ultimately taking advantage of a tool that many people have come to rely on for their safety. And because of this stun gun devices are receiving a bad name.

But it’s important to remember that even though there will be a percentage of people abusing the use of these devices, they are still vital to a person’s protection. They have shown time and again that they are effective in what they do, which is ultimately putting a stop to someone who may want to harm a person.

As a result of this, individuals interested in buying such a device for their safety should do so, but bear in mind that they were designed to defend those who require protection; not to be used to steal from others by inflicting pain on those who don’t require it.
