A High Speed Boater, Punches, and Pepper Spray

A high speed boater on a crowded Nottingham lake was seen punching a Fish and Game officer in the head and body after he tried to board the man’s boat. As a result the officer was force to employ his pepper spray in order to disable the 47-year-old man.

The boat which was a problem during the day had received complaints from other people enjoying the lake that the boat was racing around causing a disturbance. Authorities believe that alcohol may have been the factor.

The conservation officer who was hit in the face and body was being treated at a nearby hospital for his injuries while the boater in question was arrested and taken away into custody.

At the time of the incident, the lake was filled with individuals enjoying the summer weather as an immense boating crowd, from fishing boats, canoes, pontoons and kayaks, convened. Officers on patrol were mainly there to check fishing licenses; however they noticed a 200-horse power boat, which could easily pull off 50 mph, speed through a congested area when it should only have been going no more than 6 mph.

Not only was the driver speeding through a congested area, but he also put his life and the lives of others at risk when he came within 100 feet of five other boaters.

Unfortunately the Fish and Game boat present wasn’t able to keep pace with the high speeding boater, so officers decided to wait out of sight. When they approached the boat under a bridge, it was then that one of the Fish and Game officers jumped into the speeding boat to confront the man.

While the officer’s main objective was to arrest the individual, he soon found himself subjected to punches in the body and head, as the 47-year-old man tried to throw the officer overboard. It was then that pepper spray was brought into play in order to successfully subdue the individual.

As the warm weather continues in most parts of America, there will be more people outside delighting in the sun’s hot rays; unfortunately there will also be people out there who take things too far when a few drinks have been consumed. As a result, a pleasant day can easily be ruined because of someone else’s foolish antics.

Thankfully with devices such as pepper spray around, people intent on causing a disturbance can quickly be dealt with, therefore allowing people enjoying themselves outside to continue to do so.
