Set Bail for Stun Gun Attacks at Colossal Amounts

Last month in North Seattle, two women and a man took it upon themselves to target five elderly women with a stun gun normally employed by most people for self defense, so they could steal their purses and other items they believed to be of monetary value.

As a result of these actions, a King County judge has decided to set bail for the two women involved at $500,000 each, even if the families of these two women can’t afford such a bail amount.

While many are claiming that the youngest woman involved, at 17, wasn’t involved, police reports find that she was the one waiting driving the stolen getaway cars when these incidents were taking place.

A person’s actions can speak volumes in a community, which was certainly the case here. Even though family members argue that the 17-year-old wasn’t at the scene at the time of the crimes, there are eye witness reports that say she was.

And even though she may have hung out with the two other suspects, she also had a choice not to be part of the crimes that took place. After all, in the end the three individuals involved didn’t achieve anything for themselves. All they managed to do was cause harm and upset for the victims and the victims’ families.

When it comes to self defense devices such as stun guns, there are many reports of their abuse being abused, even though they were initially made for safety in mind. Unfortunately in this day and age, there are people walking the streets, just like everyone else, who only purchase these devices so that they can inflict harm on to others.

Is the bail amount set too high? Maybe and maybe not. But then you have to consider the individuals involved who were victimized as a result, simply because three people decided to target them because they were easy.

Just because of a person’s age that doesn’t grant someone the right to steal and rob from them. Furthermore because of the incident, these ladies targeted and stunned from the stun guns will never be the same again when they walk outside, not knowing whether or not they will be the next to become victimized.
